Welcome New SkyAdvisors
SkyDeck is thrilled to announce the welcoming of its new SkyAdvisors. The new additions to the advisory board have agreed to share their talent and experience with the SkyTeams. Each advisor has a distinguished background that will enhance SkyDeck’s mission to develop an entrepreneurial ecosystem in the Berkeley community.
Ronjon Nag is an inventor who founded Ersatz Labs and serves as Chairman of Embee Mobile. Dr. Nag was educated at Cambridge and MIT and was a Visiting Scholar and Harkness Fellow at Stanford. For 25 years Dr. Nag pioneered mobile interfaces, working on speech and handwriting recognition, predictive text and the app stores that smartphones depend upon. He ultimately sold the companies he co-founded (Lexicus and Cellmania) to Motorola and BlackBerry.
Sutanto Widjaja received an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and a BS in electrical engineering and computer science from the University of California, Berkeley. He has worked in various positions including the Manager of Finance at WineShopper.com, an Analyst in investment banking at Robertson, Stephens & Company, an Analyst at Accenture, and a member on the board of the San Francisco Public Health Foundation. Widjaja is currently a Co-Portfolio Manager of Symphony’s fixed-income team and a member of the Berkeley Angel Network. Widjaja’s experience with startups extends to his own co-founding of Sutro Biopharma, a Stanford startup.
Andy Wiedlin holds an MA in International management and Japanese Language from UCSD and a BA in Political Science from UCSB. Wiedlin specializes in social marketing and advertising and has contributed to the successes of major companies, including BuzzFeed and The Huffington Post. Before retiring from BuzzFeed, Wiedlin worked in the Chief Revenue Office. He has also sat as MySpace’s Vice President of Sales. Wiedlin holds the position of Executive in Residence at Andreessen Horowitz.
Ted Kuh received a BS from UC Berkeley and an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Kuh has served as Strategic and Financial Advisor in the retail and consumer industries. He is currently an active investor and a Professor at the Haas School of Business. His enthusiasm for assisting startups with prove invaluable to the SkyTeams. He plans to offer his expertise on business strategy, strategic planning and financial advice.
Albert Chu is an experienced technology executive as well as a product marketing and business strategist. Albert serves as a board member, advisor and investor for a portfolio of startups in financial technololgy, wearable technology, mobile apps and social good projects. Currently, Albert is the CEO of Moff USA and a visiting research fellow with the Sim Kee Boon Institute for Financial Economics at Singapore Management University.
