The Jacobs Hall Opening Celebration
The UC Berkeley College of Engineering has announced the opening of Jacobs Hall, the new Institute for Design Innovation. The center is located at the corner of Ridge Road and LeRoy Avenue next to Soda Hall and contains five design studios with access to the latest equipment for rapid prototyping and fabrication.
Jacobs Hall welcomes Berkeley students with an interest in synthesizing technical skills and design theory. The institute offers an environment with advanced facilities in which students across disciplines can discover solutions and develop technology. Jacobs Hall is predicted to be an integral addition to the Berkeley innovation ecosystem.
The Jacobs Hall Opening Celebration will be held on Thursday, August 20. The program will include a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at 1:30 p.m. and an Open House with tours and exhibits beginning at 2:00 p.m. All parties interested in attending must register by August 11 at engineering.berkeley.edu/jacobs-hall.
