SkyDeck at CES 2017
CES (Consumer Electronics Show) is the premier showcase event of new innovation and technology that takes place in Las Vegas every year. The show has become a must for companies, investors, reporters and technophiles to get a look at all of the new innovation. This year, more than 175,000 industry professionals attended the event, with more than 3,800 exhibiting companies. Among those companies were SkyAlumni Chirp Microsystems, Cocoon Cam, Eleysian, and You3Dit.
Amazon’s virtual assistant Alexa played big role at CES, with many new products having Alexa built in including Ford, with Alexa controls for cars running the Sync 3 voice platform. Speaking of the automotive industry, self-driving technology headlining companies’ offerings from Chrysler to a whole host of startups.
Overall, CES proved to be an enormous success and continues to be the go-to event for startups. According to Lori Chen from You3Dit, “it was my first time and I was completely taken aback by how large the conference was. There wasn’t enough time to see all of it but we walked away knowing we’ll be going back!”. Pavan from Cocoon Cam says, “CES is a great venue to meet retail and distribution partners. Several of them are from multiple countries attend CES and it is a great venue to meet and get validation on value proposition, messaging, pricing, packaging, etc.”.
CES often is a good predictor of upcoming technology, so we’ll all be keeping our eyes on many of the technologies highlighted including self-driving cars, AR/VR content generation, intelligent systems that use hardware as a vehicle, and security for internet connected products.
