Showcasing Berkeley Innovation at the Entrepreneurs’ Expo
At the Fall 2016 Entrepreneurs’ Expo, students, faculty and community members had the chance to explore UC Berkeley’s “entrepreneurial ecosystem”. SkyDeck, in partnership with Bee Partners, CITRIS Foundry, and Sutardja Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology, hosted the expo showcasing 15+ campus organizations that promote innovation and entrepreneurship at UC Berkeley.
The Expo opened with the opportunity for students, alumni, and faculty to freely connect with the campus programs and explore innovation opportunities at Berkeley. Keynote Speakers featured Caroline Winnett (SkyDeck Executive Director), Peter Minor (CITRIS Foundry), Iklaq Sihu (SCET), and Michael Berolzheimer (Bee Partners). The Expo ended with introductions from participating organizations and a new addition of a flash presentation by Cal-founded startup, Lendsnap.
The event successfully welcomed over 400 attendees to Berkeley’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. The energy was terrific as participants had the chance to connect with programs and exchange ideas about innovation in Berkeley.
SkyAlum Lendsnap was featured as a Cal-founded startup which has grown impressively since graduating the SkyDeck program. Lendsnap has developed software that minimizes the headache of the mortgage process and was recently accepted into Y Combinator. Founder Orion Parrot, spoke about the opportunities and resources at Cal that helped his company to incubate, accelerate, and thrive.
SkyDeck would like to give a special thank you to our event sponsor & keynote speaker Michael Berolzheimer, Founder & Managing Partner of Bee Partners.
