Kabam’s Kevin Chou Becomes SkyAdvisor
SkyDeck is proud to announce Kevin Chou, founding CEO of Kabam, as a new SkyAdvisor. By joining SkyDeck’s Advisory Board, Kevin looks to deepen his continued involvement with UC Berkeley’s entrepreneurial community and empower students to pursue their startup dreams.
Kevin graduated magna cum laude from the UC Berkeley’s undergraduate Haas School of Business program. He went on to build Kabam, the leader in developing console-quality mobile games, with two other UC Berkeley alumni. In 2014, Kevin was named one of Fortune Magazine’s “40 Under 40” and, in 2012, was identified by Fortune as one of the “Smartest People in Tech.” Kevin led Kabam from inception to over $400M in annual revenue and the sale of the company for $800M to Netmarble in 2017. Kevin continues his startup career with new spinoff company, Aftershock, an entertainment company focused on massively multiplayer games for mobile devices.
Kevin is a huge champion of UC Berkeley. In 2013, Kabam signed an $18M contract to secure the naming rights for Memorial Stadium at UC Berkeley. Berkeley now proudly boasts a football field named for a UC Berkeley startup. In March of this year, UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business announced a $25M gift from Kevin Chou and his wife, Dr. Connie Chen. The school will name its new academic building the Connie & Kevin Chou Hall. This is the largest personal gift from an alumnus under 40 years old. We are very grateful to Kevin and his wife for supporting our Bears.
SkyDeck is delighted to have Kevin Chou as our new SkyAdvisor to help lead and inspire a new generation of UC Berkeley entrepreneurs. Welcome, Kevin!
